PURPUL DURT
Purpul Durt is the third planet in the Chartreuse Solar System. The planet has a featureless moon, called MOON, and that moon has a moon moon, called MOON MOON. A retired volcano sits at the tippy top at the planet’s highest elevation in the northern hemisphere. The caldera is now frozen over, but was once so explosive that it formed most of the planet's geology. Stretching down the sides of the volcano lie The Valleys and straight down the center is a path where lava once flowed all the way down to the river that circles all the way around the equator. On both sides of the now dry lava channel is the Purpul Durt Forest. From the deepest roots and to the high canopies of the giant Gigsab Trees, the forest is packed with life. Down by the river, before the lava reached the water, was a big blue hole. Centuries ago the volcano erupted, pouring lava from deep within Purpul Durt’s belly, carving out this channel all the way to the river. There was so much lava and the blue hole was so large that it took 10,000 years and 5 separate eruptions to completely fill up. Now it’s filled with lava stone. A rocky beach, topped with red sand now sits in its place. The river is 30 miles at its widest, and on the other side of it is a red sand desert.
